Helping people build resilience and strength.
About
For nearly 30 years, Dr Touma has used psychotherapy and EMDR to help individuals overcome severe trauma, Complex PTSD, depression, anxiety and other emotional challenges. His work has empowered countless people to heal, regain confidence and cultivate healthier relationships.
Dr Touma also serves as an educator for Master of Medicine candidates at the University of Sydney.
Approach
Psychotherapy effectively alleviates psychological symptoms by addressing and resolving their root causes — improving overall functioning and enhancing emotional well-being.
Dynamic psychotherapy consists of sessions exploring different facets of life, both current circumstances and past situations. That exploration creates an opportunity to comprehend and resolve the underlying origins of illness and pain.
This healing offers personal growth and a new perspective on life. As emotional strength develops, it enhances self-worth, builds confidence, and fosters better interpersonal relationships.
Access
Living in a regional centre himself, Dr Touma is committed to making psychotherapy accessible to people in regional and remote areas. Telehealth sessions are an ideal way to receive consistent, high-quality care from wherever you live.
In the media
Dr Touma was consulted to provide crucial insights in the Kathleen Folbigg case. After Folbigg had unjustly spent 20 years in prison, Dr Touma's opinion played a pivotal role in shifting the psychiatric assessment, ultimately leading to her release.
